The Environmental Management Authority (“EMA”) is committed to respecting your privacy. This Policy shall be subject to the provisions of the Data Protection Act, Chap. 22:04 of the Laws of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago or any statutory instrument or enactment thereof.
EMA’s website is structured so that, in general, you can visit EMA on the web without identifying yourself or revealing any personal information. Once you choose to provide us with personal information you can be assured that it will only be used to support your customer relationship with the EMA. Personal information means information about an identifiable individual that is recorded in any form including, but not limited to: –
• information relating to the name, race, nationality or ethnic origin, religion, age or marital status of the individual;

Awareness
EMA provides this Privacy Policy, which is to be read together with our Terms of Use, to make you aware of our practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. User Submissions
Other than personally identifiable information, which is covered under EMA’s Privacy Policy (available on our homepage and at the bottom of every https://emacp.com web page), any material, information or other communication a user of the Site transmits or posts to this Site will be considered non-confidential and non-proprietary (taken together as “Communications“). EMA has unlimited rights to such Communications and may use it for any purpose within our legal capacity. EMA and its designees will be free to copy, disclose, distribute, incorporate and otherwise use the Communications and all data, images, sounds, text, and other things embodied therein for any and all commercial or non-commercial purposes. Users are prohibited from posting or transmitting to or from this Site any unlawful, threatening, libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, or other material that would violate any law.
Payments and Transaction Fees
The EMA provides users with an electronic payment service that allows for the online payment of transactions offered by various Departments within EMA. The EMA is only granted authorization to charge the user’s debit or credit card (issued by VISA or MasterCard) for the relevant transaction conducted. Should the user select the convenience of delivery of any processed documentation to a designated address, this can be facilitated at a cost and the courier fees will be included in the total invoiced sum that is to be approved by the user prior to completion of the transaction. The EMA and its contracted service providers shall maintain strict confidentiality in relation to any card information that is provided by a user to facilitate an online transaction.
A transaction fee (“Convenience Fee”) is charged for each transaction conducted using our online payment Service. The Convenience Fee is calculated at 2.5% + $4.00 of the transaction total. The Convenience Fee is subject to change in the event that the relevant Card Association (i.e. the organization that create and manage debit and credit card networks) changes its fees. The Convenience Fee will be disclosed to you prior to making an online payment and you will be given the option of not proceeding with the payment and transaction if you do not wish to pay the Convenience Fee. We will only process the transaction if you agree to pay the Convenience Fee.
It is to be noted that if you do not wish to pay the Convenience Fee, there are alternative methods to make payments such as the direct use of LINX, cash and cheques.
The EMA reserves the right to discontinue the Services of its Site without prior notice.
